I. Introduction to the Institute of Higher Education, Lanzhou University

Lanzhou, the critical station along the ancient Silk Road, where LZU is located, is the transport hub of “Belt and Road”. As the national comprehensive university under the direct authority of the Ministry of Education, Lanzhou University(LZU) is one of the universities supported by the "Project 985" and “Project 211”, as well as the national “double first-class” universities. In 2019, LZU was authorized to confer academic degrees by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.

Attaching great importance to the quality of talents, LZU is committed to creating a good atmosphere of “willing to come, wishing to stay”, assembling and cultivating outstanding personnel from all over the world. LZU aims to make employees work and lead a life with decency and dignity, and enhance the sense of belonging, gain and happiness of every teacher, student and employee.

On June 20th, 2018, according to the characteristics of the discipline and the needs of the country, LZU reestablished the Institute of Higher Education. The Institute now has a first-level master's degree in education, which focus on teaching and research of disciplines such as Higher Education, Curriculum and Pedagogy, Educational Technology and Vocational Education. Higher Education is accessed as a key discipline of Gansu Province. Higher Science Education, the journal sponsored by the Institute, as the source journal of China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database(CAJCED) and VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal, is included in Chinese core journal database.  

The Institute of Higher Education currently has 5 professors, 8 associate professors and 5 lecturers. In accordance with the needs of discipline development and faculty team building, we sincerely welcome talents from home and abroad to join us.
